Itinerary
Atlanta/Berlin. Leave Atlanta Hartsfield International for an overnight flight to Berlin. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Berlin.
Berlin. The morning is rich with a city tour featuring Charlottenburg Castle, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the famous Kurfurstendamm, Bellevue Castle, the Cultural forum and the Reichstag Building in he former West. Moving into former Eastern Berlin, see the Brandenburg Gate, the Unter Den Linden Boulevard, Gendarmen Markt, the Berlin Cathedral, Alexanderplatz, the Nikolai Quarter and the remains of the Berlin Wall. The afternoon is free for you to explore Berlin at your leisure.
Berlin/Dresden/Prague. Leave Berlin for Dresden, the stunningly beautiful center for fine art and world-class porcelain and formerly known as “The Jewel Box” of Europe. Afterwards, cross the Czech border through verdant farmlands to historic Prague.
Prague. Enjoy a morning tour of the city including a visit to Hradcany Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Basilica of St. George, Mala Strana, and Old Town. The afternoon is at leisure.
Prague/Cesky Krumlov/Vienna. Depart Prague and travel through the south Bohemian countryside to the “Pearl of the Renaissance”: Cesky Krumlov. Continue touring through Austria to beautiful Vienna.
Vienna. Morning sightseeing begins with a drive around the Ringstrasse. See the Votive Church, Theh University, the City Hall and the Opera House. Visit Schonbrunn Palace. Enjoy the afternoon and evening for shopping or exploring at leisure.
Vienna/Salzburg. Revel in the scenic drive through the Austrian countryside on your drive to Salzburg, one of the world’s most beautiful places.
Salzburg/Oberammergau. Cross into Germany and ascend the Bavarian Alps for a panoramic view and tour of the fairy tale Castle of Neuschanstein and of the unusual oval rococo Wies Church.
The Passion Play of Oberammergau. In keeping with a 387-year old promise, the villagers of Oberammergau present their Passion Play depicting the last week of the life of Christ. The play traces back to 1633 when the Black Plague swept Europe. The people of this German village took a solemn oath: if God spared the, they would present a day-long play depicting the passion of the Christ. To this day, they have kept the promise. Every ten years, the villagers perform the Passion Play with the same love an devotion they have shown for more than 380 years, in an open-air stage against the beautiful backdrop of towering Alpine mountains.
Oberammergau/Munich. Travel on to Munich for a city tour of the capital of Bavaria. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in this beautiful city.
Munich/Atlanta. Return to Atlanta with lovely memories of this grand tour of the Old World.
